Chef
Born and raised in Pittsburg, California, Terry Braggs took his love of food, creativity and color out of fashion and put it into the kitchen. After completing his culinary arts degree and becoming a chef, Terry decided he wanted to approach his recipes from a place of fascination and compassion instead of fear and perfection. This approach turned out to be exactly what he needed.
Over the past twelve years of his culinary career, Terry’s been featured in several magazines, including Entrepreneurial Chef and Essence. He also appeared on Food Network’s “Guys Grocery Games” on two segments. His culinary journey has taken him to Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar in Walnut Creek, Chevalier in Lafayette, and the Orrick Law Firm in San Francisco.
Though Terry’s had the luxury of being an executive chef, his private work is his heart. Through it he’s specialized in bringing touches of home and comfort to all of his dishes, no matter how challenging or complex. He’s also been able to travel and contribute to social and taste atmospheres in the catering world.
Terry’s food activism has been the key in cultivating consistent relationships with his clients. Standing firm in his belief to pay it forward, Terry offers mentorship and support to young aspiring chefs in the area. He’s also the proud father of teenagers Brandon and Giana, who at times are willing to sous chef but more often than not want to run the kitchen at home.
In 2016, Terry started his own catering business, Bragging Ryt’s Catering which serves the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Thro… Read More
